Hey everyone im new here. I just want to get a quick solution on these on going problems ive been having. soo here we go...

Problem (1) Everytime I start my computer zone lab alarms keeps asking " do you want SEAR1 MFC and WU8b9tl.exe Applications to run " of course i say now, cause in some threads they say there some type of malware. So how can i get rid of this?

Problem (2) I run spy bot check and it detects " Puritan scan" in the registry key ,I cleaned then removed the file, but it keeps coming back after rebooting everytime.

Problem (3) In my control panel I have this " 2020 search" app in there. I cant remove or delete it. so i looked everywhere online to get rid of this 2020 search thingy and found a forum with instructions on how to and here it is .

Re: 2020 search problems

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Download & instal Adaware from here
& update it B4 scanning.
In settings under 'scanning,' have it set to
'scan within archives,'
'scan active processes,'
'scan registry,'
'deepscan registry'
'scan my IE Favourites for banned URL's,'
'scan my host's file.'
In 'tweaks' under 'scanning engine' set it to 'unload recognised processes during scanning.'
Also in 'tweaks' under 'cleaning engine' set it to 'Automatically try to unregister objects prior to deletion' & 'let Windows remove files in use at next reboot.'
Select 'activate in-depth scan' before starting scan.
When the scan is finished select 'next.'
Remove what it finds by placing a check in the box to the left of the object. Reboot

Download & instal Spybot S&D from here Update it B4 scanning. Go into settings & have it check for Beta releases also & download if available.
After the scan is complete, have spybot fix everything marked RED.
On the page that first opens when you start Spybot there is an option to immunise, you should do this. In the immunise section there is also a link to download Spywareblaster. Download that & you can keep it updated by selecting the same link that you use to download it. Reboot

Download HijackThis from here & unzip it into it's own, permanent folder, (not a temporary folder & not on the desktop). Start HJT & press the scan button. When the scan is finished the scan button will change to save. Save the log to a text file, copy the entire contents of the text file & paste it into the body of your post. DO NOT FIX ANYTHING YET. Most of what is there is harmless & even necessary to the running of your system.

Ok and heres the view log of HIJACK this , soo whats safe to get rid of here.

Try the PurityScan uninstaller.

Close all (browser) windows & rescan with hijackthis. When the scan is finished place a check in the box to the left of the following entries & click 'fix checked' :

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = http://www.myexexex.com/search.php?said=spage
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,CustomizeSearch = http://www.myexexex.com/search.php?said=spage
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = file://c:/spad/start.html
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://www.myexexex.com/searchbar.php
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = file://c:/spad/start.html
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL = http://www.myexexex.com/search.php?said=spage&qq=%s

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [WU8b9tI.exe] C:\windows\temp\WU8b9tI.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [WINT] C:\WINDOWS\System32\wcpsvcc.exe

Reboot into safe mode following the instructions here & navigate to & delete the following if found:

C:\windows\temp< contents of folder

I still cant get rid of that "2020search "app thats in my add or remove control panel.

thanks for the support

Before manually editing the registry always back it up. On Windows ME and XP creating a Restore Point will do.
Click Start > Run > Type or copy & paste regedit. The registry editor will open.
Then go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall and delete the offending entry in the right hand pane.
