Hi
My tune up utilities tells me lsas.exe is using a high amount processing in the process manager but it isnt in the process manager and when I searched the net it said its an information stealer. I also have 6 svchosts in the process manager, is this ok? avg scan found four tracking cookies its not finished yet. Does this all sound ok? My internet broadband is slow reponding and im checking the computer:eek:
Any help will be much appreciated on this.
i found lsas.exe using avg and terminated it my computer auto restarted only for it to be there again. grrrr

At quick glance, your logs look OK. Will take a closer look tonight when I have more time.
-- You should rename HijackThis.exe to analyzer.exe.
I am not sure hijackthis.exe.exe (as you have it) will escape detection by Vundo and other malware
Are you sure about the spelling of lsas? Where was it running from? Do you know the path?
C:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exe --> this is the legitimate (and properly spelled) lsass.exe that is showing in your HJT log......

I am not sure what it is - might be benign or could be a sign of a deeper infection. Based on the logs, I am leaning toward it being benign.

thanks i removed that 1 line . also its missing from tune up utilities now well thats magic. as for lcass i think that is needed like you said thanks again

Also, there are a number of malware that use files labeled svchost.exe. But they run from a directory other than system32 and are easy to spot. Equally easy to spot are those such as svchosts, scvhost and the like.....
