Problems with isearch and IMIServer IEPlugin

Hi,
I am new to this but have tried to follow the post read first but still to no avail. I hope I have put hj this into the right place, my c drive documents in its own folder.
I have problems with isearch and IMIServer Plugin being recognised by my aol spayware software.
My hijack this log will follow. Can you please help i am willing to learn. cheers

Hi and welcome to Daniweb forums :).

Download
SDFix
and save it to your desktop.

Please then reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the
following :

Restart your computer
After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the
Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu with options should appear;
Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press "Enter".
Choose your usual account.

In Safe Mode, right click the SDFix.zip folder and choose Extract
All,
Open the extracted folder and double click RunThis.bat to
start the script.
Type Y to begin the script.
It will remove the Trojan Services then make some repairs to the
registry and prompt you to press any key to Reboot.
Press any Key and it will restart the PC.
Your system will take longer that normal to restart as the fixtool
will be running and removing files.
When the desktop loads the Fixtool will complete the removal and
display Finished, then press any key to end the script and load
your desktop icons.
Finally open the SDFix folder on your desktop and copy and paste the
contents of the results file Report.txt back onto the forum with
a new HijackThis log

SDFix got most, but there is a little more to do.
Viewpoint Manager is considered to be foistware, rather than malware, since it is installed without users approval, but doesn't spy or do anything "bad". Please read this article: http://www.clickz.com/news/article.php/3561546
I suggest that you remove the program. Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and remove the following programs if present.
Viewpoint
Viewpoint Manager
Viewpoint Media Player

Note that some of these file(s)/folder(s) may or may not be present. If present, and cannot be deleted because they're 'in use', try deleting them in Safe Mode by doing the following:

Restart your computer
After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear.

Select the first option to run Windows in Safe Mode hit enter.

Reboot.

Does it give the exact path to them? If so, post them here please.

Go here and download then run Silent Runners.vbs. Right click on the download link and select Save Target As. Save it to the desktop or to a folder in a permanent directory. It generates a log which will be created in the same folder you are running it from. Please post the information back in this thread.
If you have a script blocking program, please allow the file to run. It is not malicious.

That's showing up as clean too. Without seeing where it is, makes it difficult to remove. Unless it's not really there :). Doesn't AOL spyware claim to be able to remove what it finds?

Try this;

Please download and install AVG antispyware tool

Close all other Applications Select language click Ok
Click I Agree
Click next
Click Install
Click Finish
Wait and AVG antispyware will open to the main screen automatically.
Wait again a few minutes and AVG antispyware Should Auto update itself. If it doesn't click update at top of screen.
This is very important to get updates
When updating has finished. Close AVG antispyware.

If you have an "always on" connection to the internet, physically disconnect that connection until you are finished with Safe Mode and have rebooted back into normal mode.

Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
Restart your computer
After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear use arrow up to highlight
Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode hit enter.
For additional help in booting into Safe Mode, see the following site: HERE
You MUST manage to get into Safe Mode for the fix to work.

Make sure to close all open windows/programs/folders. Have nothing else open while AVG antispyware performs its scan!

Run AVG antispyware.
Click on scanner at top of AVG antispyware sceen.
Click on Settings.
Under How to Act click on Recommended Action and choose Quarantine.
Under How to scan all boxes should be selected.
Under Possibly unwanted software all boxes should be selected.
On right side under Reports: click on Automatically generate report after every scan.
Under What to scan select scan every file.
Click On scan Tab.
Click on Complete system scan.
Let the program scan the machine It can take awhile give it time.
When scan has finished at bottom of screen click Apply all Actions.
Click Save report
Click Save Report as (Save as window's screen should pop up.)
Click desktop.
Click Save.
Exit AVG antispyware.

Reboot back to normal mode.

Post the log here.

Hi, My spyware says they are still there.
I didnt need to do the last step in safe mode. Should i recheck the hide protected operating system files now or later?

Hi,

Of course what an idiot!
I still have the isearch and IMIServer Plugin on my aol spyware program. What i did do was delete the aol spyware program and reinstalled it but it still comes up with them being found. Any Ideas?

Unfortunately I know absolutely nothing about the AOL program. Hopefully someone else can help you with the answer.
Unless.......if you uninstall it again and then delete everything related to the program, registry entries included, reboot, then reinstall and see what happens.

In safe mode, Windows only loads up enough drivers etc to operate, which means that any files etc that need to be removed, can be, as they are not running.
