I would like to know the way to find the Protocol used by our home/office network. I mean to find whether it uses a Tunnelling protocol or if its a VPN connection etc.
Any comments would be much appreciated !

Not really sure what your asking but I've got a suggestion
open command prompt
Press Win+R, type "cmd", and enter/ok
Without quotes
type in "ipconfig /all"
without the quotes
this should tell you everything about any/all connections
