Good Evening.
I'm in the process of testing to restore a system.
I backup with TSM but the SYSTEM OBJECT I backup with NTBACKUP right before the TSM backup.
I tried to test after the backup
1: Install Win2K on machine with TSM
2: Restore all the files for the various drives, this also includes the file that has the system object backup.
3: Restore the SYSTEM OBJECT with NTBACKUP from the backup file. The problem I'm seeing is in the event viewer there are alot of files that show up locked.
4: Reboot
When I reboot it seems to come up fine but I'm not on the LAN and a few of the services do not start. Is there a way to restore the system object without having locked files? I assume this is the cause of the problem.
Is there a recommended way to restore the SYSTEM OBJECT to a Win2K machine running SP3?

I was mixing up the terms that are used.
In TSM it is called SYSTEM OBJECT in Microsoft it's called "SYSTEM STATE".
