The default homepage on my internet explorer has been changed to go to a chinese script website upon launching. I tried changing it back the usual way via general settings tab in internet options. Unfortunately the part where supposedly change the address in greyed out. Any suggestions?

You most likely have a browser hijack .You need Spyware removing software like Spybot and Ad-aware,they are free downloads .After installing and before scanning be sure to update them both .
