I recently acquired several used gateway laptops 600YGR- crashed & full of viruses, I ended up reinstalling windows XP pro on them, my question is: I have driver/applications disks (gateway) for my desktops, but none for the laptops - Can I install these desktop drivers on them, or are there specific "laptop" drivers needed? I have contacted gateway via website & once I have drivers installed np updating. I might be able to get disks, but would have a wait & otherwise they are good to go, online wireless etc.

I am using one now, & it works, but scrolling is rolling/waves etc.
all other legacy drivers are updated with Driverchecker.

Any response is appreciated!

not only are laptops different than PC, PC' are different than other PC's you really need to make sure you have correct drivers for each different model ,right click on mycomputer and /proprerties/hardware /device manager and you will see if all drivers are install correctly for each device
