I just used my laptop, and it was working fine, i then connected it to a multimedia projector and it was ok for a few minutes then the screen went blank with just a white mark like a curser point on the screen. I rebooted and still the same problem, i tried safe mode nothing happened i tried a recovery cd but it wont boot up either. None of the controls seem to work. Can anyone help as ive a lot of work on it and i dont want to lose it

So does your machine boot now or no?

By boot I mean you hear the Post beep. It's a single beep after you switch it on it comes up within a few seconds of switching the machine on.

If it boots, do you see the Dell logo in the beginning? or just "a white mark like a curser point on the screen"?

If you don't get the Dell logo, then your LCD or VGA maybe damaged, if you get the Dell logo then your drivers maybe corrupt.
