Can someone advise me please how to unlock the icons in a folder in Win 7 so they can be moved around instead of being locked to a grid all the time? This was the default option in XP but I can't find out how to do it in Win 7.
Your advice would be appreciated.

hi,pretty sure i read somewhere some time back that it cant be changed ,Microsoft decided we all need to be neat and tidy i guess .

I went to the link and followed the instructions and now the folders are as I want them. Within the folders there is now a right click option to uncheck auto arrange. I can't think why this option was not made default in Windows 7 from the beginning.
