I am having a problem (in WinXP Pro) logging into an account if the user is currently logged in.

I have removed certain users from showing up on the main login screen, the only way to login as them is to press ctrl+alt+del twice, then enter the information. The problem is, if they login and then I switch users, I cannot get back to the first account that I logged in, I try pressing ctrl+alt+del twice and the usual login box never reappears as it once did

This is a known issue. If a user is logged on and you use the Fast User Switching feature to login to another account, the CTRL+ALT+DEL twice trick does not work. For that, you'll need to log off the currently logged on user.
