I am running on Window XP and when I tried to install a program

SETUP caused an access violation in SETUP.EXE at 0x00000024.

Can anyone who knows please on this. thanks.

What program are you trying to install? Does this happen with all programs you try to install? Please be as specific as possible with the information you provide. An error message on its own seldom is enough information.

I am trying to install the AVG antivirus program (free edition) which I downloaded from http://www.grisoft.com/us/us_dwnl_free.php.

There is also an existing game program which when I tried to log on today, the same message came out.
