I am unable to enter the regedit -The box pops up and then exits , same for the control panel add and remove. Is this a virus or just
software glitch?
there are no error msgs this happens both in 98se and 2000

Probably Malware of one type or another. Some worms do this sort of thing. Read the posts at the top of the Security forum and then ask there if necessary.
