Hi,
I wish to set up a wireless network using only my laptop. I can set up an Ad-Hoc network but this is very slow to connect and the clients need lots of things to be set up before they can get on the internet. Is there any way to set up a proper wireless network using just a windows laptop that allows users to connect to it?

I don't believe Windows has that capability, but there might be a few nic's out there that come with software to setup a laptop as an access point. Of course if your going to buy a $40 nic you might as well buy a $40 router and do things the tried and true way.

very true... using your laptop as an access point is always going to be slower than just buying a router. you can get a really good wireless router for under $100 and it will make things a lot easier to set up.
