I had always removed the space after the full-stop. But the tools like Grammarly and Microsoft Word have changed my habit to add a single space after every grammatical symbol.

The removal of space from everywhere comes from the fact that I used to use SMS a lot and it has a limitation of characters to be added to one sms message :)

I've had some glitches and problems with hibernation of Windows 8 but overall it's more stable, secure and faster than previous Operating Systems like Windows 7 or Windows XP.

I have a Windows 2008 domain in which Windows 2008 acts as an active directory, dns and dhcp server. I want to install Exchange in this environment. I don't have 64 bit Windows Server in my network so I can't install Exchange 2007. Just wondering if I can install Windows 2003 SBS in this environment which can act as a secondary domain controller with Exchange Server and ISA Server?

Although the thread is old but I have successfully fixed this problem and written about google redirect virus on my blog. I'm reproducing the steps here so that people who are having this problem may be able to solve it ..

1- Run Hijackthis and look for R3 Enteries. Delete those enteries which you find suspecious.

2- Go to your Hosts file and make sure you don't have anything nasty there. The default hosts file only includes the localhost entry.

3- Look at the processes running under your username in the Task Manager. Make sure you don’t have anything suspicious running in background.

4- Make sure that you have a legitimate primary and secondary DNS Servers in your network settings. In case you don’t know your ISP DNS, you can use OpenDNS whose primary and secondary DNS IP addresses are given as under:

208.67.222.222

208.67.220.220

5- Now disable System Restore and Re-enable again to make sure that all your restore points data is lost and the virus is not residing in the System Restore data file.

6- Also run CCleaner to clean the temporary and junk files to make sure everything is gone.

7- Reboot your computer and see if the problem persists.

Google, the biggest ppc company, shut down their video ads because they were not all that successful. I don't find any reason where video ads will gain as much popularity as text or image ads?

On-page SEO
See what your competitors are doing to get on top. Each and every detail counts.

Off-page SEO
See how many links your competitors have for that particular keyword. You need to achieve at least that no. of backlinks for your page.

mikejm, which firewall are you using? Disable the firewall and then try to do it. If it works, then surely it's the firewall that's the culprit. You can do the following:

If it is Windows Firewall then you can go to Control Panel --> Windows Firewall --> Exceptions and add svchost to the exception list.

svchost is located in C:\Windows\System32\svchost.exe

Usually Windows firewall does not block Microsoft's own services. So I suppose you're using a 3rd party firewall.
If you are using any other firewall, you can add the same exe file to the exception list.

nanosani 20 Technize.net addict Team Colleague

mikejm, you should check whether your firewall is blocking SVCHOST from accessing the internet. You should un-block svchost service from your firewall in order for Windows Update to work.

skypilotpete, you can use Opened Files View from Nirsoft.

And if you want a tabbed Microsoft Office so that the clutter can be removed from the taskbar, you can use Officetab which is a great little add-on to Microsoft Office.

pranavv, the biggest issue is that your hard drive is not getting recognized in BIOS. You should try changing the data cable and the power cable and also try different SATA ports until it is recognized. When it is recognized, you can easily select it as boot device from BIOS. The bottom line is that it should be recognized in BIOS otherwise it's a hardware failure.

Thanks for the link Bobchrist, actually I have already implemented the link exchange directory here:

nanosani 20 Technize.net addict Team Colleague

I wanted to ask whether it's still a good idea to have a link exchange page on the site? And if using Wordpress, is there any plugin available which can do the link exchange monitoring automatically rather than manually? Or what is the alternative way of doing this?

nanosani 20 Technize.net addict Team Colleague

For SEO Purpose I'm using a few wordpress plugins which are doing a good job for me.
1- All in One SEO Pack
This is a must have plugin for SEO purposes and works out of the box. No configuration is needed. You just have to fill in the title, description and the keywords of each post before publishing.
(I have also used Headspace2 which is also a very good alternative to All in One SEO Pack)

2- SEO Friendly Images
This plugin automatically adds alt and title tags to the images of the site which help in better SEO position in google images.

3- SEO Smart Links
SEO Smart Links provides automatic SEO benefits for your site in addition to custom keyword lists, nofollow and much more

4- SEO No Duplicate
This plugin helps you manage your search engine duplicate content, by setting your post page’s canonical to the permalink.

5- SEO Booster Lite
This is the latest plugin I'm testing and like the idea behind it. It attempts to boost our search rank in google for certain keywords especially for which our site results are coming on the second search page. I have benefited from it a little till now. Still testing.

I think it is up to the software whether it installs itself for all the users or only for the current user. What you can do is delete all the shortcuts for that software from all the other users except yours.

You should tell us the full error message.

You have to have remotely connecting to that computer enabled. By default it is not enabled in Windows XP or Vista. You can enable by right clicking My Computer --> Properties --> Go to Remote tab..

Make sure "Remote Desk - Allow Users to connect remotely to this computer" is checked. If it is not checked, just check the checkbox and select the users to whom you want to grant access by clicking on the "Select Remote Users" button.

What options exactly do you need to transfer your files?

If you want to access your pc from your laptop, here's the shortcut .. just type the following command in your Run dialog.

\\yourPCName
Where yourPCName is the name of your PC.
If you want to know the name of your PC, just right click My Computer --> Properties --> Computer Name. You can find the full computer name there.

2- fixboot

Hopefully your problem will be solved.. Please do let us know about the results.

Windows has special registry keys for manipulating the Drives as shown or hidden. One cool way of opening multiple drives (you said you could only open one drive at a time) is by opening My Computer window and writing the drive letter in the address bar e.g, if I want to open E drive, I will open My Computer, type E:\ in the address bar and boom ... the drive is wide open. You can open multiple drives this way.

As far as your problem is concerned, I can only redirect you to my article about hiding the drives in My Computer. You can check if the group policy has not restricted your drives access. Otherwise check the registry which I mentioned in the article.

If you still can't solve the problem ... then may be we can craft another solution ...
