Re: XP

Why do you want to remove it, if you do the account wont work??? If you dont want the account anymore, delete the user using user/group management then manually delete thier profile directorie(s) if they remain.

Its because you have 1gb memory brand name laptops come preloaded with all sort of crap you dont need which eats your memory, upgrade to 2gb and remove the stuff you dont need, then it will run faster.

Replace CMOS Battery. See if that helps. If not, that error generally means a corrupted BIOS, normally due to a bad flash. If thats the case, its probably time for a new motherboard.

RegCure is a scam. Says there are errors when they arent. Wil lalso charge you more than they say and will install spyware and viruses on your machine. Looks like a problem with your firewall or maybe malware from the regcure trial.

yeah i disasembled my dead Hitatchi/IBM Deskstar once and it had wierd glass platters. You could see why it had died, the magnetic material had actually worn off of them and turned to dust. There was a groove where the head had hit it at 7000 rpm and disintegrated lol.

Lol. Ive got a recent lenovo (not a thinkpad, thier own 3000 series) as well as a pre-lenovo IBM thinkpad (R Series) and they are both pretty good. The old R series is ancient but totally goddamn indestructable.

Just find out the motherboard model and google for its manual. Thats the only real way. many motherboards will also need a BIOS update to support newer CPUs (if they support them at all) CPU-z can be of some help in finding out what is in it at the minute.

The recovery disks will work regardless of whether windows has the correct drivers or not. You boot off of the recovery media using the BIOS, they will run independantly of any installed OS. If you cant even boot off of them using the BIOS, then its a hardware fault.
