Define: Reverse SEO: (n) reverse search engine optimization (reverse seo), reverse search engine optimisation (the act of rendering a search engine's results optimal by decreasing the rank of potentially negative results or bad press) "the simultaneous optimization of intended results while decreasing or eliminating unintended results"; "in an optimization problem we seek values of the variables that lead to an optimal value of the function that is to be optimized"; "to demote the optimization and diversification of a search engine result." – Clinton Cimring, 2006

Reverse SEO is the process of removing (technically de-ranking) websites other than your own from the first pages of Google.

..being better than the others.

Lol sucks for most young people who aren't adequate. You've gotta market yourself so that companies believe that they NEED you. And then prove to them that they DO.

I'm 22. College dropout. I have two jobs, one part time "just for fun" and one programming job, where I'm an asset to the company. Any old dude with programming experience could do this job, but clearly, i did something different. Lol.

Not to sound cocky... But i have a TON of friends who graduated college with high honors, etc. and went back to waiting tables and working minimum wage retail jobs because they can't market themselves well.

Bummer.

But you're more likely to get a job if you have the ability to meet demand and stay one step ahead of everyone else. So I dont mind.
Less jobs for young people means that I've got the benefit and the "one step ahead" on my generation as long as i can continue to rock the socks off of all my employers. ^_^

I'd go crazy in retirement, personally. I can't imagine not having a job, or something to "get done" every day for more than a month.
More power to those that can enjoy that sorta life.... I just get bored, and lose my sense of purpose when i sit and rot away for too long.
You can only collect so many star trek comics, and pick up so many hobbies before you get bored.

Id suggest investing time in learning programming..even if you do end up in a field that doesn't require much programming, it's always helpful to know. Not to mention, the practice helps with problem solving skills and critical thinking :)

If you can read and understand SQL already, you're closer to being able to write it than you think. Id suggest embracing the fact that you're clearly a natural, and using it to your advantage.

Get your feet wet in both concentrations, and after getting experience, pick whichever one you feel you're not only best at, but enjoy most.
You can always expand your knowledge on an area, but you cant "learn" to like a specific career.

Nah, no supernatural stuff for me, although my wife does look like a monster if I had too many at the pub and got home late. Maybe I should compare photos of Loch Ness and her... mmm;)

Hahaha. As a woman, I can honestly say we are ALL monsters. :)

its a pain in the butt to re-create a page when displaying products from another vendor and making the product descriptions unique. Lol.

Hahahahaha. Sounds ideal. I tried to date a man who didn't drink. He really wasn't a fan of my behavior. ...I guess nice men aren't into holding your hair while you puke on their shoes. :/ [Looks like I need to find myself my own modern day Sid Vicious, minus the heroin!]

Also, try experimenting with hex charts, and combining colors! gradient fades, double backgrounds, etc.

From my experience, age isn't a big factor in programming. I've been programming since the early age of 13. Self taught, I've gotten jobs without a degree in both programming AND web design. It's all about skill. If you're a good programmer, and you can show proof of work, you'll get a job. Just make sure to stay one step ahead.
