How can I monitor my MYSQL database and the number number of threads and connections it has from a remote computer. my database is running on a ubuntu box and I would like to monitor the database from any of the three major platforms (windows, mac, linux)

Many web hosting providers use cPanel for remote control etc etc etc.
The thing is modular and can inlude a mySQL control panel and various stats modules as required.
Please forgive me for being a bit vague as I am only a user. Never been in a position to download/install. The site tells me it's a charged product, not free I'm afriad.
Maybe someone knows of something open source.
