which is the best compiler to work on java?

I prefer to use Sun's, since they're the ones who created the language. I don't know how others compare, though.

Sun's is best overall.
Jikes is reported to be a bit faster at times, but has some quirks that make it not quite standards compliant.
None of the others come even close (though the one in Eclipse tries).
