Ok, so I did the clumsy thing and knocked my Seagate 1.5 TB External HD 10cm to the ground. It made some funny sounds and stopped functioning. After waiting some time, I reattached it. It made the funny noise for 5 minutes then the noise stopped. The computer said usb mass storage device attached which got me excited. However when I went to My Computer, the drive was nowhere to be seen. I did some troubleshooting to Disc management which also didn't recognise the drive. However, the drive is recognised in Device Manager.

Is there a way that I can remap the drive or access the info so that I can transfer it to a safe place?

My knowledge is not overly technical but I can generally follow instructions so any help would be great. Thanks in advance

Depending on the product, you may have the interface, but no physical drive. If your drive's motor was damaged to the point where it won't spin, then you're only option is to get a 3rd party to recover the data.
