What was your first computer?

Mine was an Apple IIGS, Woz edition. These days I am lucky to live just up the road from Woz. We spot him in his car from time-to-time driving past our block.

Commodore 64, but replaced it with the Amiga 1000 as soon as it came out. It was awesome.

First ones at school were ZX80/81 and an Apple ][
First one at home was a BBC Model B

For some reason, I spend a lot of time messing with code to draw https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lissajous_curve and other geometric shapes.

My elementary school had Apple IIEs, but I got an Apple IIGS about a year earlier before starting first grade. My mom wanted to get me a computer similar to what they would be using in my school.

The first computer that was mine, and not my Dad's, was an Amstrad CPC 464. I used to copy programs out of magazines into it, but they seldom worked, probably due to mistakes because I was an impatient 10 year old.

My Dad worked for Burroughs who became Unisys so we always had some type of CTOS computer in the house. I liked those because there was a fun game called Rats that I liked to play. After college I took a job at Unisys in their hardware repair workshop fixing ATMs which was a lot of fun, but occasionally I'd get to help out in the CTOS repair bay and one of my jobs was refurbishing hard disks that were very small in capacity but the size of a house brick. "Refurbish" sounds ambitious, but it was just connecting it to a test bed and having a bunch of read write tests run on it to repair bad blocks. I think they were SCSI disks so had a degree of error correction built in which was very cool. You don't see SCSI much these days.
