What Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware programs do you run? Have you done a full system scan recently? Also do you get Blue Screens (BSOD)?

I have NOD32 Anti-virus nope i don,t get BSOD

I had a very similar problem with my old desktop.

It used to crash when I played certain games. I discovered the root cause a few years later.

Have you recently changed your graphics card? Somtimes, graphics drivers will leave pieces of themselves behind after removing them. This is especially true when changing from one brand (ATI, for instance) to another (NVidia).

My computer used to also crash when I ran any sort of registry repair utility. Try running CCleaner www.ccleaner.com . Its a free program you can download that cleans up junk and will also clean your registry. Get back to us with the results!

Try running a few outside scans. I love NOD 32, and I use it for all my computers, but it somehow seems to miss a lot of things- though its supposed to have the highest detection rating?

Here's some free online scans you can try:

Kaspersky Free Virus Scan http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner

Trend Micro HouseCall http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

Windows Safety Scanner http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/default.htm

BitDefender Free Online Scanner http://www.bitdefender.com/scan8/ie.html

McAfee FreeScan http://us.mcafee.com/root/mfs/default.asp?affid=294

Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool http://www.microsoft.com/security/ma...e/default.mspx

Symantec Security Check http://security.symantec.com/sscv6/d...d=ie&venid=sym

Panda ActiveScan http://www.pandasecurity.com/homeuse...ns/activescan/

You should definitely run Windows Safety Scanner, as it also checks your registry.

Are you running windows XP or Vista? 32 bit? If so, you can try using Dial-a-fix

http://wiki.djlizard.net/Dial-a-fix

Which fixes many common problems.

Also, for good measure, run a chkdsk Start>(My )Computer>Right click on your OS drive (most likely C: )>Properties>Tools tab>Error Checking>Check both boxes>Click "Check now">Reboot

Unfortunately, the only way I fixed my computer was by reinstalling the OS and returning it to factory settings- but I didn't know as much as I do now.

Try these steps, and tell us if your problem persists. If it does, you still have many options!

Good luck!

//EDIT

Oh! And it might be heat related- I don't know why I didn't think of that earlier. Crack open your case and see how dusty it is inside- none, a little, moderate, or a lot?- If there's too much dust, your computer will likely overheat!

Blow the dust out with a can of compressed air- even if there isn't too much. Its good practice to keep your computer clean!

All the best,

--The Comodore

EDIT//

K thanx for the advise i'll try it

My OS is Windows XP Professional, I had NOD32 Anti-virus actually my CPU is new (motherboard, processor, memory, and video card)

My OS is Windows XP Professional, I had NOD32 Anti-virus actually my CPU is new (motherboard, processor, memory, and video card)

Just wanted to add a little insight here for you guys. I think that by CPU yayaymmm means computer, not processor. That threw me off for a minute there, just wanted to save you all that minute :)

How is your computer faring now, my friend?

All the best,

--The Comodore

well a minute ago it crashes again

Did you try all those (albeit many) suggestions? What were you doing when it crashed?

If so, or if these don't work for you, you still have many options open!

You still can boot off of your windows CD, enter the recovery console, and try "CHkdsk /r" and "SFC /scannow"

Also, if all else fails, you can try a repair installation (back up important data, first!) which *should* leave everything user-created in tact, but it hasn't always.

If this still doesn't work, a complete nuke-and-pave might be necessary, but save this for your last resort. LAST resort!!

In the mean time, try creating an Ultimate Boot CD (www.ubcd4win.com) (on another computer would be best) all you need is a blank CD, your windows CD, and some time. ISO recorder can be helpful if you want to create an ISO image then burn that to CD http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/isorecorder.htm

You can try booting onto that CD, and you will have many more troubleshooting options.

Boot into the CD itself for many antivirus and antispyware programs, as well as diagnostic and other helpful programs.

Scroll down the initial menu a little to Memtest86 to check your RAM for a bad stick. Let it run at least 5 times- overnight is recommended.

Also, if you want to reinstall, Derek's Boot-and-nuke will wipe your hard drive clean so NOTHING remains, so you have a truly clean installation.

This whole UBCD thing is pretty straightforward once you put some time into it and try it out, but for a first time user, it can be a little confusing. Don't worry! Just post back if you have any trouble, I and anyone else checking this thread will be happy to help you! The UBCD website is also very helpful- written in common English instead of biblical-like tech-support jargon a lot of places like to use.

Wishing you luck,

--The Comodore

I cleaned my PC a while ago and i played NBA Live and it doeasn't crashed I don't know if its ok already my PC seems to be very inconsistent sometimes its ok sometimes it just crash its really hard to know what the real problem is I tried spybot, i tried scanning with NOD32 and it appears that it has no viruses

You should still outsource some scanning (using an online scanner) to be safe, and try some of the other things.

All the best,

--The Comodore
