Hi, I've been having a serious issue for the past week or so. I use Firefox and its acting up in several ways:

1. Google search results get redirected to random sites.
2. Downloads from the browser complete the instant they are started leaving me with a small fragment of the file.
3. Pages don't load completely.
4. Youtube videos begin to load but then stop immediately.
5. Certain sites won't load at all, like if i type in www.nfl.com it just stays at the current page i'm on.
6. Internet is generally much slower.

Also the same thing happens when I use IE and Opera.

I've got adaware spybot avp and they aren't detecting anything except for cookies. I also installed COMODO after this problem started. I'm not computer savvy enough to figure this out on my own.

This is my Hijackthis file:

Anyone got any ideas?!?!

If you've got something that breaks utube dls.. I think I shall leave it out there to spread. Hopefully.

Hi Dan, welcome to daniweb.
First thing I would like you to do is Open your Spybot program. Click Mode and choose Advanced.
One the Advanced mode opens you should see three buttons at the bottom right of the program. Click Tools. When tools opens you will see a row of buttons on the right. The second one down is called Resident. Click that one. When Resident opens take the check mark OUT of TeaTimer. Click Ok and close the program. Next go to Start, Control Panel, Administrative tools. When that opens Click Services. Once services opens you will see a list of programs which can be run as services at Start Up, they are listed in alphabetical order. Once of those is AdAware. Double click on that to open. A box will open, Stop the program with the button towards the bottom. Then in the middle there is a place where you can set Start Up type. Click the little arrow there and it will open up. Choose Disabled. Once Disabled appears in that window then click Apply. Close out that and close out services.
Reboot the computer.
I would like you to try to run the online ESET Scanner
You will need to use Internet Explorer to to complete this scan.
You will need to temporarily Disable your current Anti-virus program.
Be sure the option to Remove found threats is Un-checked at this time (we may have it clean what it finds at a later time), and the option to Scan unwanted applications is Checked.
When you have completed that scan, a scanlog ought to have been created and located at C:\Program Files\EsetOnlineScanner\log.txt.

If you found you were unable to run the ESET Scanner because of your current problem don't worry about it now, we can try later or try another scan. Just continue with the instrucions.

Next, Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (MBA-M) to your Desktop.

* DoubleClick mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install MBA-M.
* Be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan, then click Scan.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
* When MBA-M finishes, Notepad will open with the log. Please save it where you can find it easily. The log can also be opened by going to Start > All Programs > Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware > Logs > log-date.txt.

Again, Reboot the computer.
Once the computer has rebooted then run a NEW HJT scan and save that log.
Post back here with all three logs.
Judy

Reebooted after running Malwarebytes' and seems to have fixed the problem....thank you!

I couldn't run ESET scanner at the time, it just wouldn't let me load the page, but heres a new HJT log:

Seems there were a bunch of trojans that nothing else was able to detect. Odd. At any rate the computer seems to be functioning normally again.

Looks like Malwarebytes' took care of a lot of items. But would like you to run one more program as there are a couple items in your log I can find no information about;

Download ComboFix
Click on the Save button and then when it asks you where to save it, make sure you save it directly to your Windows Desktop.
Once the download is complete you will see the Combofix on the desktop.

*Close all open Windows including this one.
* Close or disable all running Antivirus, Antispyware, and Firewall programs as they may interfere with the proper running of ComboFix.
Doubleclick the combofix icon on the desktop to run the program.

Windows will issue a prompt asking whether you wish to run the program, click Run
You will then see a Disclaimer screen asking you to agree to the disclaimer. Press the number 1 key to accept the disclaimer.

Now just sit back and allow the program to run

Please note, that once you start ComboFix you should not click anywhere on the ComboFix window as it can cause the program to stall. In fact, when ComboFix is running, do not touch your computer at all and just take a break as it may take a while for it to complete.

When ComboFix has finished running, you will see a screen stating that it is preparing the log report.
This can take a while, so please be patient. If you see your Windows desktop disappear, do not worry. This is normal and ComboFix will restore your desktop before it is finished. Eventually you will see a new screen that states the program is almost finished and telling you the programs log file, or report, will be located at C:\ComboFix.txt.

When all is complete then please post back here with that log.
