I have somehow acquired an odd virus. When I start up my computer a Security Center Alert comes up asking if I want to block suspicious software called Win32.Zafi.B with a high threat level . There is an enable protection button. I've pressed the button and when I do mozilla firefox comes up with a window that says restore previous session and start new session. When I restore previous session it crashes. If I start new session my homepage does not go to google but rather to a warning about their being a threat and suggesting me to continue without protection or buy windows defender. Sometimes I can continue but if i search in google or go to a website it often crashes right away. I cannot run STEAM either it just crashes after I log on. Explorer also seems to have problems as well. I have no clue what to do.

So I ran Super Anti-Spyware, Malwarebytes, and Norton Malware. They found problems but not of them removed this problem. I also cannot post a HIJACKTHIS log because I can't really get on the web with my other computer. I guess I could transfer it to this comp with a keydrive but I don't know if that'll transfer the virus somehow.

So I ran Super Anti-Spyware, Malwarebytes, and Norton Malware. They found problems but not of them removed this problem.

Did you tell these programs to remove what they found? They won't just do it automatically, you have to tell them to do so and very often the computer must be rebooted in order to complete the removal process.
MBA-M most definitely should remove this. This is an email worm which has been around since 2004 as should the others. It is now spreading via file sharing too.

There is an enable protection button. I've pressed the button

That security center warning you are receiving is part of the worm itself so you should not be pushing any button. Just "X" out of it if possible.
We really have to see some logs or else we can't know completely what you are dealing with.

I have a question, you had a thread going back in December and you never returned to it so we never knew if your problem was corrected at that time. Why didn't you return?
http://www.daniweb.com/forums/thread160954.html

Yes, sorry about that. That is odd I thought I did return but I guess not.

And yes I did tell the programs to remove the problems found.

Okay I got the logfile:

I don't see anything suspicious in the log. Your java is out of date but other than that I see nothing. It would help to see the MBA-M log.

Okay... I am running MBA right now. I'll send you the log when it is done. I am doing another complete scan.

Here is a log I did after I got the problem (it found a problem but didnt fix my problem -- it also didnt find several problems that super antispyware and norton found):

Probably the main reason it didn't find what others found is that it is WAY, WAY out of date. Current version is 1.32 and database version is 1643. So yours is, at the very least more than a month out of date. It has to be updated. MBA-M certainly is capable of fixing most problems. Depends on WHEN you ran it...if you ran it BEFORE the other two then it could have found more but of course it is out of date. If you ran it AFTER the other two ran then it would NOT find what the other two had all ready fixed.

Thank you so much! I noticed automatic update wasn't on and sure enough it wasn't scanning with the last version thanks so much the problem is fixed!

If it were my pc, I would be updating MBA-M and running it just to be sure.
