This crashed the first time I tried to post. Here we go again.
Downloaded and executed a file I shouldn't have. Immediately, explorer.exe started dying and then restarting, over and over again. AVG Free disabled itself and will not run or reinstall. Spy Sweeper corrupt -- won't uninstall or reinstall. SuperAntiSpyware corrupt and won't reinstall. System restore has no restore points, and they were present just a couple of days before this started.
I could manually try to load explorer.exe from task manager [file, new task]. i could also run Ad-Aware, which I ran multiple times, kept finding 5 Vundo trojans, then 9 Vundo, over and over again. Even though it said it removed them, they kept reappearing.
MSIE will not go to designated web sites, apparently hijacked by the trojans. It defaults to a fake looking MS search result page, which I have not clicked on, because it looks fake. I am writing this in Safari, which I happened to have on this machine.
I tried to run Windows Malicious S/W Removal Tool, but it did not seem to run, unless it ran in the background with no messages whatsoever. I ran ATF-Cleaner.exe, which seemed to work. MBA-M would not install. Ran ESET Online scanner, but did not read instructions closely enough and deleted the trojans it found. Here is that log:

While explorer.exe now stays on screen and does not crash, MSIE still is nonfunctional. I can access web sites, but I have to use an explorer window like My computer [NOT MSIE], and paste a URL into that explorer window -- it's like I;m fooling the OS or something.

I can also give you a "snapshot" log from What's Running 2.2 if you want.
For for giggles, I downloaded ComboFix but it would not load.
Uh, help?
