Alert message ..'Delete File'

Firstly, thanks to chrunchie for the previous help in getting my system back up to normal. :D

This quick question though is on behalf of my friend.

He is running Windows Me and has been getting an alert message popping up asking if he is sure he wants to delete a file. The actual file isn't identified. Just the word file. Obviously he clicks 'NO' but the alert reappears frequently. It is to the point where he is only able to use his computer, online and offline, for short periods before the alert message renders any further functions/commands useless.

He has scanned his computer for viruses and that has come up clean. So I wanted to know if anyone here has an idea of where we could look to start correcting this problem. I have mentioned to him to download HJT and run it but he has been unable to download it due to the problem. I was hoping on using my computer as a one way go-between (only transfer files to his system, incase there is a hidden nasty).

Any ideas on what the actual problem is ??

I sent him HJT so he could scan his computer and here is the result he has sent me. It is a Normal Mode scan. Let me know if you want a Safe Mode scan and I will post it up.
