System 32 on startup

I have read quite a few threads on different forums and nothing seems to fix my problem. I'm on a Dell XPS Gen 3, Windows XP Home. Of course, I got that "hijack this" program and have tried some of the suggested fixes but nothing seems to work.

Hmmm, Nothing looks to bad. Lets start with some scanners.

Download the Free trial version of Spysweeper

Update the defintions and run it (Save Log)

Then download ewido

www.ewido.net - Install. Update. Scan. Remove anything it finds. (Save Log)

Then post those two logs, along with another HJT log...

Hmm, I am not seeing much in that log, what exactly are the problems you are having?

Basically, the system32 folder just opens up every time I restart or turn on the computer. As soon as the desktop loads, up pops the system32 folder. It seems to be a fairly common problem but I just can't get it to stop happening.

Ya might wanna try using this article.

However, I wouldnt recommend it if ure not to familiar with computer (I have a feeling ya are), cause it uses RegEdit.

Just be careful with regedit.

Ooo! I think I stumbled across a reg key that fixed it! I deleted /L:eng or something of the sort. It looked familiar from other posts on the same topic but I thought I had tried deleting/editing it before. Hopefully it's not just a temporary fix. I'll make a follow-up post later on if it reoccurs. Thank you very much guys.
