Generic Host Process for Win32 Error

i am always getting this error everytime i reboot my computer.

Generic Host Process for Win32 has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for inconvenience.

after that, my sound system cannot work anymore and my internet becomes unstable. is this a virus? please someone help!

I have had a similar problem and discovered today that it appears to be due to Windows Live Messenger. This IM software allows file sharing and runs a Service for this called "messenger sharing folders USN journal reader service". When I disabled this Service in MSCONFIG all the problems disappeared - including some problems I was having when I had WMP 11 search drives for songs (it would cause the computer to reboot.)

I have an open service request to Microsoft and will inform them of this discovery tomorrow.
