My computer has been affected by a trojan called Generic VB.b and i need help on how to fix it.

My computer is installed with Windows XP

My computer also infected with Generic Vb.b and if I clean with Mcafee enterprice edition 8.5i, the infected files are deleting and loosing data. I am using windows xp SP1. Mcafee vi rus engine is 5100 and DAT is 5049. Please any one help me to clean the virus with out deleting the files.
