Hi!

I have a few viruses on my computer I think.

A long time ago, I got the Naupoint homepage hijacking virus. I somehow managed to make it so that it didn't hijack my homepage anymore, but I still can't delete the virus itself off of my computer. My antivirus keeps detecting ggdlg.dll and deletes it, but then it shows up again every time I turn on my computer.

More recently, I got the annoying yupsearch toolbar virus. I managed to get rid of the toolbar I think, but my computer still freezes frequently and I get the popup ads. Could you please tell me what to do to fix these problems? Thank you. Here is my log:

Hi. Welcome to the Daniweb forums :).

You are running hijackthis from a temporary folder. You need to create a new folder in a permanent directory of your choice, (a folder on the desktop is fine) name the new folder hijackthis and move or unzip hijackthis.exe into that folder.

Please download LQfix.exe from one of the following locations:

Save it to your desktop.

• Double-Click LQfix.exe and click Next > Next > Install.
• Leave the default settings, if you change them, the fix will Fail!
• You need an active Internet connection, so make sure your connection is enabled.
• Now make sure the "Launch LQfix" box is checked.
• Click the Finish button, after clicking the Finish button the fix will start.
• Follow the on-screen prompts.
• Your system will reboot afterwards.
• Please be patient after the reboot, there is a script running in the background that needs to complete.

Download L2mfix from one of these two locations:

Save the file to your desktop and double click l2mfix.exe. Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts, then open the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop. Double click l2mfix.bat and select option #1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing enter. This will scan your computer and it may appear nothing is happening, then, after a minute or 2, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it into this thread.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run option #2 OR any other files in the l2mfix folder until you are asked to do so!
