Was able to get rid of gomyhit.com, but now I don't have access to Control Panel.

Hi,

It would be greatly appreciated if someone can help me fix my computer. I have contracted the malware called gomyhit.com. After, endless hours of going to different forums that were able to solve their the same problem I was able to get rid of this malware. However, It seems as there are still some infections left and I cannot access the control panel. In addition, everytime I try to clean my system with smithfraudfix it says something about registry cleaning being restricted by the administrator. Again, thanks for your help.

SMF must be run in Safe Mode.
==Download SmitfraudFix (by S!Ri) from http://siri.urz.free.fr/Fix/SmitfraudFix.zip
Extract the content (a folder named SmitfraudFix) to your Desktop.
- Restart your computer in Safe Mode.
- Open the SmitfraudFix folder and double-click SmitfraudFix.cmd, select option #2 - Clean [type 2 and Enter]
You will be prompted: "Registry cleaning - Do you want to clean the registry?"; answer Y and Enter [which will remove the desktop background and clean registry keys associated with the infection].
The tool will next check if wininet.dll is infected- if it is you will be prompted to replace the file ; type Y and press "Enter".
It will also create a log named rapport.txt in the root of your drive, eg: Local Disk C:\
Restart in normal Windows. Please post C:\rapport.txt

For those of you who have gotten the gomyhit trojan and it has or hasn't gotten to the point of a blackened or blanked out screen... do a system restore from dos by booting into safe mode with PROMPT option and type "msconfig" without the quotations. Then select the LAUNCH tab at the top. Find System restore, highlight it / select it and click the launch button towards the bottom right on the same window. Select the recommended restore point, wait, restart, and do a spyware scan afterwards to ensure it's gone! If you want to feel even safer there is a smartauditfix.exe or something close to the name (do a search) that will clean out gomyhits' registry file as well. *Make sure you run the ?smartauditfix? in SAFE MODE and as admin for it to work! * ~cheers
