Has anyone used software from SSuite Software? Two brothers writing software on the side? (Information on the brothers Here near the bottom. It reminds me of Microsoft Works on steroids. Interestingly, there are directions online for installing Works on Windows 10/11. 🤷♂️ Bewildered.

Hmmm, I never looked that far. Since they studied at the University of South-Africa, I assumed they weren't U.S. citizens or in the States, but I see their YouTube channel ventured into U.S. politics. Piss on that. Won't be looking any further.

I’ve actually tried a couple of SSuite apps out of curiosity.
They feel a lot like old Microsoft Works style tools, lightweight and very basic. Fine for simple documents, but rough around the edges and not something I’d trust for serious or long term work. Updates and support also seem pretty limited.
Personally, I’d only use them for quick, offline tasks and nothing important.

I haven’t personally used SSuite, but it looks interesting, especially if you prefer lightweight desktop software without subscriptions. From what I’ve seen, they offer several free office suites for Windows users.

The Microsoft Works comparison makes sense too especially since SSuite focuses on lightweight, straightforward office tools rather than trying to compete feature-for-feature with Microsoft 365. And apparently they have quite a huge collection of different utilities beyond just word processing and spreadsheets.
I’m tempted to give it a try just out of curiosity

I wouldn't try apps from an unknown source in fear of having my data harvested. I'll stick with Libre Office which has a pretty solid rep. I have to wonder if their office-style apps save in the open document format, or if they are proprietary.
