ok heres my problem. i start up windows it loads and then during loading i get d0ce0c16b1 error and a ok botton to continue. i click it and windows finishes loading. everything looks fine. i try to run word or get to internet even trying to run other programs all it does gives the hour glass and then stops. i can go the the games and run solitare but nothing else works. then after a few restarts and playing with programs i can get other programs to run and get on the web. but when we restart it back to square one. restoring dose not go back as far as the proble has been going on. ive tryed reparing windows but does not help. do i need to run a virus scan to find the problem or do i need to reinstall windows ? i have searched the web forums say its a virus but no one is haveing the problems i am haveing with it.

Yes first run virus scan in safe mode. Then any of the antispyware/adware programs in safe mode. Then look in the msconfig for more information, what happens after boot.
