That is what I did, all the data is in an xml file. The flash file simply holds the site design.

I have new images that simply don't update.

Could it be my host though?

I did that, but it still doesn't work. Any ideas why?

I currently have a caching problem on my flash site.

I have set the htaccess file to:

Header set Cache-Control "no-cache"

But when I refresh the page, the images on the flash site still shows the old one from the cache.

I also tried setting max age to 1, and to must-revalidate, but it doesn't work too.

I have also tried adding that line of code to my php index file, but it doesn't work either.

Could this be a fault with flash? I tried shift+refresh in Firefox, but the files are still cached, as shown in firebug. Is there a way to fix this?

What type of site is it? If it's a content related site try placing "related articles" around.

Well, twitter is good as a broadcast medium. It's not very much of a social network because of it's simplicity. I use twitter to receive and broadcast news and updates.

Alexa is very inaccurate. Some sites with over 300,000 unique visits get a rank of 100k+, and some sites with only 50,000 visits gets a rank of 30k+

Yep, page loading speed is important. I usually just close the tab for a slow loading site.

Articles on my site usually get indexed under an hour without any of those methods.

I have a blog hosted by blogger. But there is no "Posted By" in the posts. Does anybody know to add this? I have tried using the widgets feature to check "Posted by" but it still doesn't show.

I was wondering if adding the alexa widget to our sites will increase the alexa ranking.

My site gets over 5000 uniques a day but alexa ranks my site a miserable 216+ thousand.

I don't think you need permissions to install firefox add-ons. I've tried it before, it should work the same for you.

I noticed that daniweb doesn't prune it's members. Most of other tech forums prune their inactive members.

Pruning the members would give a more accurate statistic on how many people actually use daniweb.

I have tried Statcounter, but they only allow me to save up to a limited number for log files, if I want to save more than 500 visits, it costs a bomb.

Would be best if the hit counter records very specific results.

Disable the plugins one by one and do a trial and error analysis to see which plugin might be causing the problem as I suspect it is one of them.
