Hello,
I am brand new to this forum, but it would appear from viewing previous posts that you have helped solve some issues for folks who are having problems viewing web sites.
About 2-3 weeks ago, I noticed that I was unable to access the kfbk.com web site. I thought that perhaps the site was temporarily offline for upgrading, but I received an email reply this morning from their web developer that the site was still up and running (and the problem must be at my end). However, I was able to view a cached version of the kfbk web page via Google.
I’m not sure if this is related, but I am also having issues logging in to my account with the Calgary DotNet User Group on MSN Groups. After clearing the browser cache and history of sites visited, I can view the web site. However, as soon as I go to login using my MS Passport account, the browser ends up toggling between the Passport login page and the user group page. After about 10-15 cycles, it pops up a Passport login error.
Since I recently (within the last 4 weeks) installed the Microsoft Antispyware Beta (and uninstalled it after finding it rendered my antispam software (Sunbelt Software - iHateSpam 4.0) inoperative), I subsequently downloaded and installed Sunbelt Software's CounterSpy. I am wondering if this might be the source of my difficulties.
My antivirus software is Grisoft AVG 7 Free Edition. I'm running Windows 2000 Professional SP4 for the o/s and the browser is IE 6. Automatic updates are enabled and current.
On May 9, I downloaded and installed the MS .Net Framework 2.0 Beta Ver 2.0. I don't believe this to be an issue - but perhaps it may be one.
I have an old IBM Aptiva on my LAN behind a LinkSys BEFSR41 Cable/DSL router. The o/s for the IBM is Win2K Pro and it’s automatic updates are enabled. Because it is only used for web surfing, there are no antispyware and/or antivirus programs installed on this machine. It is interesting to note that it has the same errors as my main PC.
Finally, previous posters to these forums have been requested to download and run HiJackThis.
I have done so and here is the log file:
