Hi, I work from home and with a wireless router had my g/fs and my own personal computer connected wirelessly and with my work computer connected into the router via Ethernet cable. I then used Win Xp VPN to connect to the company network.

Now they have sent me a 2nd router, which is not wireless. I now wire router #1 (the one they sent) to the modem and the work computer connects to router #1. Router #2 (wireless) also connects to router #1 and the personal computers connect to router #2. They set up a VPN ipsec tunnel to the company network integrated into router #1.

My question is: Can they pick up traffic from my personal computers which are wirelessly connected to router #2? I notice I can type in one of the company server local IP addresses (i.e., 192.XXX) on my personal computer and get the page that would be otherwise inaccessible.

yes they will be able to see what you do base on the config you have, all traffic are going throught the first router connected to the modem,

you seem to be on the right track but to shed some more light a wipe is just like a format. the mania difference is the setting you can use in a wipe, you have to option to wipe the disk as if it was never used before or write zeros to the entire disk. in a wipe data is virtually unrecoverable. in a format you can get back data.

please help me. i have had my computer for just over a year now and when i went to turn on my computer after school, its fans went to max rpm and only no input signal appeared. then after a few attempts to reboot, it was working again. but it's doing this every time i try to restart or turn on after shutting down.

i know its not a PSU problem because i replaced it with a 300W one that came with my pc. (took out the 8800 first of course)

also these problems started when my pc would not allow me to use a PCI-E card like my 8800 anymore it just started using onboard

here are my specs, (what i know)

Mobo: some sort of ASUS AM2
CPU: AMD Athlon X2 +5200 Dual-Core (2.7GHz each core)
Graphics: Nvidia GeForce 800GTS BFG OC
PSU: Codegen 530W
HDD: 2 IDE hard drives (80GB) (40GB)
RAM: 1.7GB 600MHz
OS: Windows XP Home edition x32
Fans: 2

I personally think this might be either a POST, CMOS or motherboard error but no error beeps are excreted by the internal speaker.

if you like, i will be on MSN most of the time and will be listening to any suggestions

you can alway go for the refurbished drive, you have to make sure its the size that advertised, the correct file system and the drive integrity, which is going to be extemely difficult. you run a risk with hard drives, but an even greater one with refurbished ones. as for doing upgrade on a laptop, apart from memory and the ocassional hard drive, dont waste your cash on that, save and get a better one. you would be saving approximately $150.00 on a refurbished, but think about the consequences down the line when it start to give a world of problems. maybe one week after you acquire it. when if you buy a new one you have at least one year warranty on it and you can pout that extra $150 to snazz it up. but it all comes down to what you can afford and peace of mind.

the wireless is not going to show if it's disabled. even in a disconnected state you would see media disconnected. And encryption is when you use a passphrase to protect your wireless. You would have to enter a series of codes to to be able to connet to the network.

Hi all,

Have a slight annoyance with outlook 2003 shared calenders.

Permissions are set for a particular user to view around 4 calenders and edit etc however when she goes to view the calender she can do so but it doesnt put the persons name onto the calender when viewing and it also doesnt keep the person she is viewing in the shared calenders on the left hand side with the tick option to view at any time.

I have tried re-creating the permissions from the other mailboxes, adding delegates, adding perms on the mailboxes in AD, re-installing outlook and applying sp2 & 3 updates. (a bit exteme I know but this is soooo annoying)

I hope this makes sense?? Any help is much appreciated.

Cheers

Tom
