to OP it does sound like a motherboard or possiable a heat issue ,so opening it as much as possiable and cleaning it with compressed air is worth a try

remove battery and power cord ,hold in the power button to drain power from motherboard ,hook it back up and try again .
had a toshiba satellite once (2 years ago)and it did simular thing and it has never turned back on

i know the OP will likely not return ,but for others ,start with going into the setting of win8 and disable aststartup , then reboot computer hitting the correct key for you computer to enter the bios and change from uefi mode to legacy mode,this should then boot to the win7 dvd\usb thumb drive or what ever media you are using,after installing win7 ,you can go back and change bios to uefi ,and turn fastboot back on ,thats my understanding of it all anyway ,

hook to regular computer monitor see if it works fine ,you could try removing video drivers in device manager and reboot computer ,but its likely a LCD going bad

hello, if there was a lot of dust inside you may have fried something on the motherboard ,from it overy heating ,i would try removing the ram from the laptop ,unplug from power and remove the battery first ,if it has has 2 chips then put one back in and try turning it back on again .it may or may not help .
as for files on the harddrive they will likely be fine as long as the harddrive didnt die .you would do this by removing the harddrive and connecting ( either by connecting it inside a desktop computer or using a usb harddrive connter cable ,)it to anther computer to get at the files

update 1 is better ,mine seems faster lol .,microsft has lower the requirements fron 2 gig ram to 1gig and from 20gig hdd to 17gig ,main reason so tablets and such will work better

none really ,works a bit faster maybe ,unless you want to experience a totally different look ,most avid win7 users disklike win8 so much they install classic shell or some other software to make it act and look like win7.
personally i really like win8 and leave it the way it is .iam using win8.1.1 latest update .

hi,sometimes it not a issue with the monitor ,but an issue with the computer ,maybe the video device in the pc is not working ,maybe the computer itself is not working ,like windows is not even starting up when you turn it on ,many ways to troubleshoot this ,first one is try another monitor ,i know not all of us have 2 of them but a lot do ,
does it make windows bootup sound when you turn it on ,can you hear fans running ,harddrive spinning .things like that

make and model of the conputer,what version of windows its using [post it and can help find the drivers ] if its a brand na,me will help narrow down the search for drivers .go the website of the maker of the conputer and check ot support ,you will need to input the model of the computer to get to the correct drivers

no, it has more to do with other hardware ,the main one being the motherboard and its chipset,and CPU ect ect .

new is nice ,i just built a nice little tower,AMD 6core cpu/4gig ram and a 128gig SSD hardrive ,and is it ever nice a fast compared to the old one i had had ,and it cost less that the first new printer that i bought back in 1998.

sevitsil,just for clarity reasons i will say that CPU means "cential processing unit" [the the tower the motherboard and CPU are housed in ]and you can't add more ram to it ,but you can add more ram to the computer motherboard to increase speed

Seeing that island[i googled that] is who you bought it from and not who made it .there must numbers on the devices board to help in the search for drivers,care to share all or any of the numbers that appear on the board
