I am planning to buy a new laptop within a budget of 700 $.
I am going to use it for mainly programming purposes so I don't really care for graphic card etc.
I am looking for the following features:-
i5 processor
200 GB + HD
4GB + RAM

I am not really concerned with the other features.
Also would these specifications suffice for programming purposes ?
Are these specifications too much for my purpose?
Would you advise purchasing a Toshiba /Dell/HP laptop?
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

I would choose Dell among the three brand you mentioned. The specs are a bit low looking at how technology is nowadays but it should suit your purpose well.

Hi Daniel,

To boot your iMac from a CD, insert the disk into your Mac and restart it. When it boot up, hold down option key until you see a lock ( in some case ). If not, you will see a white screen and an image of your internal hard disk and the mac osx install disk. Click on the disk and follow the onscreen instructions. Try repairing your disk using the disk.

If it fails, bring your iMac to an Apple service technician for help.

I will choose Lenovo G770. Lenovo is great but the battery life is a bit disappointing. When they said it can last for 5-6 hours it actually mean 3-4 hours.

Turn off your firewall and download NoobProof . When you open the software, make sure that printer sharing is enable and port 515 and 631 is not block. Go to software update and check for any latest updates for your printer. What is your mac version?

Can you try to reseat the graphics card and ram.

When did this problem happen? Go to System preference and look for Print and Fax. Click on it and make sure the box besides share this printer on the network is tick.

Those spammers are really ' hardworking ' after all. They actually bother to change the language every time they spam.

From what I think, the OP wants to password protect his network but he failed to do so. After some random thing happen, he has trouble entering his router control panel via his IP address.

Forgetting the IP address and firewall could have cause this.

You don't have to disconnect the router from the computer to reset it. And it some cases, the routers' reset button have to hold down for a certain number of seconds.

When you said fuzzy screen is it white in colour ( may sound like a dumb question )? Is all your drivers up to date and does this happen in safe mode?

Do you have the latest drivers downloaded? Is it a G 965, P 965 or a Q 965 chipset?

If you like a simplified and easy to use browser, chrome would be the choice ( as I learnt recently ). If you like to customize your browser and many fancy features Opera or Firefox would be good.

Both chrome and opera are lightweight but I just didn't mention about the chrome part. Chrome might seem plain but is not as light as opera;)

What do you mean by "a weird HDD scrawling at startup "? After you boot up and log in, go to spotlight and search for disk utility. Select Macintosh HD on the left and click on verify disk. You might also want to install Onyx to clear your cache and other useless items.

I need to know some of your specs

1) How old is your mac and what is your current version?
2) What is your ram?

Important Notes: Clearing the PRAM does not always help and could even harm your mac. Slow startup could be a sign that your hard disk is going to crash or fail soon.
