We have permalinks for each individual post in the forum in the format `/posts/jump/123`. These URLs do a 301 redirect to the post in the full article, such as `/full-article-url#post123`. The landing pages have canonical URLs set to the full article URLs. I just recently started having the issue of …

There's no such thing as google page rate. Just google page rank. (Contrary to popular belief, it was actually named after Google co-founder Larry Page). There are two types of page rank - Internal PR and Toolbar PR. Internal PR is the secret Google algorithm that ranks every webpage and …

The quote button works as follows: * Highlight text in a post * Click in edit box It shouldn't happen if you just click somewhere else: only if you highlight text with your mouse and release the mouse button while still hovering over a post.

The edit box is the exact same as the quick reply box. Both of them start out the same size, and grow as text is entered into them.

The Javascript-based code formatter that we use doesn't work on-the-fly (i.e. before a page refresh). Since our reply box and live edit are both on-the-fly, they don't work.

May I ask what you don't like about Gmail when it comes to privacy? Is it the way that AdWords uses contextual advertising to crawl your email, or is it just the fact that your email is in the hands of a third party? If it's the latter, the only …

No one can help you because you didn't format your post correctly. I fixed your code for you this time. From now on, please use the Code button when formatting code so that it is readable.

I take breaks in between mini-projects or tasks. For example, in any given day I'll do some programming, advertising, forum moderation, checking email, SEO, etc. I'll usually take a couple minute break between tasks, unless I'm in the middle of a coding project. I hardly ever take a break if …

You are correct in thinking that this can be done from a 301 redirect in the .htaccess file, or through your hosting company or domain name registrar. I don't know who your hosting company or registrar is, so I can't help you there. You should be able to call up …

In the case of the post that's linked to, I think it's fine to bump a 2 day old thread that hasn't really seen any action. I wouldn't really call that abuse. I've seen some desperate homework-seekers who bump threads every hour with rude comments.

DaniWeb hasn't had this feature for at least a year and a half. We simply don't have the resources to do these types of searches on our huge memberbase. (vBulletin's search algorithm leaves a *LOT* to be desired.) However, you can go into anyone's member profile and click the links …

Code needs to be indented by at least four spaces to be code. When people just copy and paste code without formatting it correctly, the bits which are indented already show up as code.
