Re: These forums cover sooooooooo much already, from application programming to web programming to web development to website promotion and SEO to tech support in windows, mac, and linux, to networking. It's nearly, absolutely impossible for us to cover absolutely everything computer related and every computer programming language available. (And there …
Re: Hey there. Thanks so much! You can set your avatar and edit your profile by clicking the User CP link in the purple navigation bar. A link to us would be fantastic. If you check out the purple page footer you can see that we offer you HTML code to …
Re: Hmm, from the looks of it, you have a nasty lil bugger which is running at startup or perhaps as a background process. Press ctrl+alt+delete and, provided you're using windows 2000/xp, in your list of processes, do you see a siae3123.exe (or some variant) listed?
Re: Gosh, we just did this a few hours ago in my Life, Death, and Immortality class ...... ;) from a book called Doubt written by a professor at Nassau Community College (the school right next door to where I go, Hofstra U.) In fact, my prof mentioned she's having lunch …
Hey there. I was hoping some of you guys would have posted something about this already, but I guess not. Just curious what you guys think of the new style. Well, not a complete new style ... but the orange navbar was replaced with a purple one and we have …
Re: Go to the Start Menu, then to Settings, then to the Control Panel. Go to Administrative Tools. Click on Error Log.
Re: What happens when you type "startx" in the terminal. Does the X server fail? If you just can't run X but you can run console, it's most likely related to your XFree86 setup as opposed to a VMWare problem. Check vmware.com to see the specs for the video card that …
Re: I am perhaps a bit confused what you are asking for. For one, I don't think you are looking for a script, but rather static HTML code. (HTMLScript is Miva). Are you just trying to link a jpeg image to a URL? If that is the case:
<a href="http://www.mysite.com"><img src="http://www.mysite.com/mypicture.jpg" …
I have just logged into my AdSense account and I am so pleased to find what appears to be new features including detailed statistics. There is now the ability to create channels - in other words, groups of pages, which can be used to monitor different sections of your site. …
Re: I've noticed thsi problem a lot when related to Nvidia cards in combination with AMD Athlon XP processors and Windows XP. When I switched to an Intel, the problems miraculously went away, even when everying else was left the same (same video card, programs installed, etc). Weird, eh?
Re: My feeble lil brain seems to possibly have an inkling that you guys know each other? ;)
Re: So in your google toolbar, if you enter a keyword, and google results pop up, you are able to follow links with no problems? You just can't type in new URLs?
Re: You say you tried DiskWarrior. Did you run it from within the OS or by booting off of the DiskWarrior CD?
Re: Moderators are people who have been gracious enough to moderate specific forums or categories. They have permission to edit and delete posts in their respective forums. Super moderators are people who have moderating capabilities in every forum. Team members (also known as colleagues) are regular members who have been an …
Re: Is it legal? No. Is it morally or ethically right? No. Is anything currently stopping anyone from doing it? No. I believe, but stand corrected, that the norton website offers multi-user licenses for sale.
Re: It could very well be a problem with Mandrake not correctly detecting the correct settings for the virtual video card. As DMR stated, please provide us with the error message(s) :)
Re: I have just reset my network connection the other day. Is there any other way to tell how long Windows has been up for? However, my other network connection says 18 days. Pretty impressive for a main computer that has a load of shit installed that I use for everything.
Re: Hey there. Welcome to the forums. Browse around a bit, and if you come across any questions, be sure to post and we'll see what we can do to help ya! :)
Re: I have found that a bunch of programs crash on startup when they're not Panther compatible. Something to try is to use the system recovery disks to get into the Disk Utility and run the file system check and the permissions check on your drive.
Re: How do you roommates get on the Internet? With a network connection? Is this like a college setting by any chance where you are provided with a LAN? If you only pay AOL you will only be able to connect via AOL. Do you want to go through your roommate's …
Re: Just an idea, but perhaps make the background fade out into white so it doesn't look like a square box. A logo does absolute wonders and can set the style of the entire site. I might be able to come up with a simple mock design sometime tomorrow - it's …
Re: I would definitely get in touch with the guy who goes by Tekmaven on these forums. He coded all of bink.nu himself :)
Re: He said he was unable to contact them despite trying multiple ways. In any case, I agree that a power supply powers your entire system and has the capability of frying it. It's just a fact of life. You get what you pay for with a really cheap one. Personally, …
Re: http://www.linuxdevices.com/ http://www.embedded-linux.org/ http://www.linuxjournal.com/embedded.php http://alllinuxdevices.com/ Sorry I don't know anything about embedded linux so all I could do is point you towards links. Those were the first few out of a google search.
Re: It seems to me like there is some underlying reason why Javascript stopped working on your machine. What is bad is that the Windows kernel itself (the core of Windows) is based on Internet Explorer :-/ explorer.exe vs iexplore.exe ...... which means if your IE is corrupt, parts of your …
Re: I don't believe this is possible unless you are using a custom form script. Is the script (cgi, php, etc) that you are using for the form provided to you by Geocities? Does Geocities allow you to run your own custom scripts?

I would like to thank everyone for supporting us during our recent downtime. Unfortunately, it was inevitable. On Saturday morning, at 9:30 a.m., I tried accessing the site only to find it was down. I called my host immediately and they were not only unaware of the problem, but they …

Re: I'm moving this to our one-day old Security forum :) for all your hijacking needs ;)

Re: Do you know what language the program was created in? I remember a thread posted awhile back here about how QBASIC is completely incompatible with WinXP although it will run on Win2000. The problem the user had was trying to print.
Re: You would need to use a database storing all of the names of songs and song lyrics. I think the easiest way is with an Access database. But you would need to own Microsoft Access to do that.
Re: Hey there. I'd be glad to provide some feedback but could you provide some more information. You say you need to compare software engineering with other professions? Re: The Java code snippets section already has this program written in Java: [thread]1699[/thread] ... Take a look and it should be pretty simple to figure out the C++ version. Check the Java code snippets forum for the driver (main program) as well as the class. :-D
Re: I had this problem as well. I was able to correct it by disabling the firewall on both machines. Apparently the delay was because when a connection was initially established, it was necessary for both machines to make sure that the connection could be allowed and find an open port …
Re: I moved this thread to the Internet Explorer forum. Do a forum search here for "view source" because I know this question has been asked before and received quite a few responses. I have the same problem and the only solution I was able to find was to use Mozilla! …

Re: To continue where BountyX left off, to convert from integer to binary, use what I call the "calculating change" method - because it reminds me of one of the first C++ programs I learned was given 200 cents, calculate the equivalent in the smallest number of coins. i.e. is number …
Re: Use ctrl+alt+del and go to the processes screen. What are the top few processes requiring the most cpu usage (dragging it down to 100%)? Also, go to run and then type "msconfig" Go to the startup tab and do a print screen of everything you have running at startup |
The End.
