I agree in that Facebook is probably your best bet. When it comes to brick and mortar, I've had much more success with Facebook than I have with Google Adwords, personally. But when it comes to promoting DaniWeb, I've had AMAZING results with AdWords and terrible results with Facebook.

To answer the OP's question, as to the reason why the page they linked to is soooo long and not split into multiple pages, the answer is that we allow 20 posts per page, regardless of the length of the post.

I highly doubt it's a publicity stunt by the Telegraph. I'm sure it's just a case of googlebot's faulty AI. I'm not quite sure what you mean about Google replacing image links from the old article??
