Vista is a very unreliable operating system at the best of times, I very much doubt an automated repair will work on it, besides, a computer doesn't freeze up without a good reason. The first thing you need to do is test the hard drive to see if is in …

Your laptop is ovrheating. You need to get a professional to refurbish the cooling system. If you keep on using it as it is you risk damaging the graphics processor and if you do that you will be facing a nice big bill for a new motherboard. HP's are notorious …

1 - It's an oldish thread. 2 - Norton, Panda, and AVG absolutely will not remove anything that Mbam can't see. Especially Norton, it is the most useless security program out there, I am having to fix all the problems it causes on a daily basis.

Sounds like it has been cooked in the past. If you know how to do it, re-flowing the chipset might cure the problem.

Before you replace the battery, are you using the original charger or are you using one of those cheapo non-original replacement ones?

You should beable to use Vista drivers for windows 7 without a problem. I have windows 7 64bit and an HP officejet 7210 printer working fine with Vista drivers!

Your motherboard doesn't support both of them, it supports one or the other. You cannot sucessfully mix the 2 types.

Quite a few dodgy looking processes running there. Do a full Mbam scan and get it to remove what it finds, google will easily find it. Post the Mbam log and a fresh HJT log once done.

Start at the beginning, test your hard drive with hdtune which can easily be found with google. If your hard drive is faulty then there is absolutely no point in trying to fix your software.

Overheating is caused by inadequate cooling. The most common cause of your problem is dust in the cooling system that is blocking it up. The only effective cure for this is stripping the laptop apart and cleaning it out with a paint brush. Some will tell you to use a …

When you say the hard disk crashed what exactly do you mean? What exactly happened? Is it still readable? Does it show up at all? We need a bit of information to work with here.

A tv card with the correct inputs would do the job. Hauppage are one of the better makes. A card will have better bandwith throughput than a usb device.

By "bio" I assume you mean bios?? Swapping bios chips is a very bad idea indeed and should never ever be done. Try the CPU, it may well work fine. If it doesn't, it wont damage the motherboard (unless the CPU is faulty).

Open it up and check for blown capacitors, it's a very common fault on Dell's. If you find any that have blown, you will need to replace them.

You need to test the power supply with a test meter to make sure it is putting out 19 volts.

The dell 1545 is well known for hard drive failure. I suspect that there is a design flaw in the sata controller. I very much suspect that you will need to replace the hard drive.

It's been a while since I last opened a laptop of that model but if memory serves, the speakers are connected to the motherboard beneath the keyboard. It might be an idea to whip the keyboard off and check the faulty speaker plug to make sure it hasn't worked loose.

Your radeon 9200 is the cause. It's an old card and quite low end. I know for sure as I used to have one. Because of it's age, it is not fully supported by the most modern catalyst drivers. Stick an up to date graphics card in there and your …

You most likely have either a bad stick of ram or your graphics card is beginning to fail. The symptoms you describe are almost always caused by one or the other.

SATA2 hard drives have a maximum data transfer rate of 300mbps while USB2 has a maximum data transfer rate of 150mbps. A USB2 external is only ever going to be half the speed of an internal drive. USB3 on the other hand has a maximum transfer rate of 300mbps but …

To help you find the correct drivers we need to know the make and model number of your motherboard. You will need to have a look on the motherboard itself if you don't have the manual for it.
