Here's a good website for the definition of a PCI card: http://computer.howstuffworks.com/pci.htm Sorry, can't help ya with the other questions. ;)

Do the BSODs occur at any particular moment? Or do they just happen at random? How bout time-wise. Do they occur after using the computer for awhile?

Heh I can't lie... What you might consider is that it's overheating. Make sure the vents are getting enough air.

Mel- Now, this is only a guess, but what I think might be the problem is that there's static inside your computer, and that this was caused by opening up the laptop itself. Problem though: I don't know how you would get the static out. Sorry ;)

Try deleting the folder inside Program Files in Safe mode, and then cleaning out your registry afterwards.

Hmmm... Well it seems the battery utility itself is behaving alright. What I think is the problem is that somehow, you've blown out the battery. ;) I'm seconding goldeagle's advise...

Hmm, I dunno if this will help, but have you tried messing with the resolution on it? Have ya tried messing around with some of the Windows Settings? (right click> Properties> Settings) Hope this helps. ;)

Sounds very suspicious to me. Almost like you've been hacked ;). I would post a HJT in the Virus forum. Thanks.

Heh *holding back my secrets* But seriously, I think, reputation-wise, most mods only have 1 or 2 rep squares ;)

Mel- Welcome to Daniweb :) By the way, B.C. is one of the most fantastic places to be around, IMO. I took a 2-week vacation up there and loved it. ;)

I dunno if this helps or not.... Theres a difference between a virus and a trojan. Viruses (aka worms) are built to be downloaded, replicate, and then infect somebody else. Trojans are made to only infect the person that was infected (ie, they dont spread). Generally, trojans are made to …

Truthfully, IMO, I think buying the CD itself is better then iTunes. Then again, if ya don't want the entire album... For most reputable, you're right, iTunes is always good to go with. I don't trust those "one cent per song" either, as ya said. You might want to try …

Truthfully, it sounds like a virus to me. And like most people, you have your array of Mcafee/Ewido, etc. However, those don't catch nearly everything. SO, I would recommend ya repost in the Virus forum. THanks.

Hmmmm, I think you should be able to, although don't take my word on it. This might help: http://www.duxcw.com/digest/Howto/software/windows/upgrade/intro.htm Lastly, you're still using Win 98? ;) *passes out from the amount of security vulnerablilities in 98*

Also, if ya wanna play CD-RW in a car stereo, you're gonna need to "finish" the disk, therefore transforming it into a CD-R (in other words, you won't be able to put more files on the cd after finishing it)

Yes, fry's correct. However, most common languages are already installed. You should initially look to just changing the language of the text youre typing, and that should fix it.
