Hi cronus88, I'm a die hard Athlon fan, but I have to agree that the Core 2 Duos are the hottest CPUs on the market at the moment. And that Intel board is good as well. The real question is what is your budget?

The two 256MB, 400MHz, 184 pin modules are not for your board, you need to stick to the modules described in the specs, 256MB, 100MHz, 168 pin modules. See the link below. Did Dell suggest the two modules that you purchased? http://www.memoryx.net/dedixpst5nme.html By adding 512MB of RAM will make a …

I'm not sure what your problem is here, is the DVD-ROM not working? And are you trying to physically remove it? It would help if you could give the exact error message.

The third wire on the fan you want to add is for sense, you don't need this for a case fan. Just connect the fan to a molex connector and let it run at speed.

Yep...sounds like a hard drive. Can you check the SMART status in the BIOS? If you can't find it try downloading Everest, open it and click on computer in the screen on the right, click on summary, go down to storage and check the hard drive SMART status.

Thanks to M$ and their releasing IE7 with all of its bugs people are having problems similar to yours. One work around that seems to have worked for others is to switch the updates from automatic to manual, reboot and download updates, change back to automatic update and reboot.

The power requirements call for a combined 26A on the 12V rails. What make and model is your PSU? It would be close, but if your PSU is a good one you may be able to get by with it. this article brakes it down for power consumption.

The good news is that a format doesn't delete the files, only the address tables. This means that you should be able to retrieve those files using software like Getdata.

JANINE...the danger of poking around in a PSU is not the "transistors", the capacitors are the real danger, they can hold a line voltage ( 110 -220 volts depending on your local) charge for months after being unpluged. :cheesy:

Did this start after a M$ automatic update? There are several references to this being the problem related to that error code. The work around for this is to turn off automatic updates, reboot, then manually go to windows updates and install the updates, turn on automatic updates, reboot.
