301 redirects will save any backlinks to have to existing pages so it is worth it if you have a lot of them. If the site just launched I wouldn't worry about it too much.
For example buy-WidgetB-Cheap.com would actually have a negative effect on SEO, as it might be seen as an attempt at SERP spamming. If you see yourself having more than one hyphen STOP!
That's not true. There are lots of webpages, mostly articles and blog entries, that have a lot …

PageRank is a mathematical formula that numerically quantifies link popularity. Want higher PageRank? Get more links. Period. Want to do well in the search results? Forget about PageRankk and focus on adding great unique content to your website and promote it consistently.
-strong meta-tags
Meta tags do not help with SEO at all.
-submit to google, yahoo and dmoz
Don't forget MSN.
-google indexes best the sites made out of divs which are held in css classes.
This is not true. Google judges pages by content, not its quality of code.

1) Most directories have low PR and, even worse, the page your link will appear on will have very little to no PR and other links on it to share that PR. Basically submitting to directories is good for getting maybe as high as a PR3 but that's about it. …

There are several ways to do it: 1) Submit your site directly to them 2) Submit a Google Sitemap 3) Get incoming links to your homepage. These will be followed by Google's crawlers and will lead them to your site.
