i THINK you can choose to reinstall XP -OVER- your existing instillation. Its likely to be unstable but you should be able to have enough time to back up your files for a ful reinstall

i got 1gig of generic dell and an x600 it played bf2 fine. I later upgraded 1.5 then 2 . theres not that much difference for 512mb more but for a gig more theres a big diff. Generic ram does me fine no need for corsair in my opinion

what about fdisk /mbr from dos? It works for getting rid of other loaders like grub. BEWARE IT MAY "BREAK" YOUR SYSTEM!

I have the same router. The modem MUST plug into the YELLOW WAN PORT (NOT ONE OF THE CLIENT ONES) and you must configure it using the cd/web interface. I have my network set up as MODEM WIFI ROUTER WIRED SWITCH (PLUGGED INTO A CLIENT PORT ON THE WIFI ONE)

Google for a thing called deep burner (theres a free version) - its better than nero. Just open, click burn .iso, point it to the iso file, select the speed and click burn. Also check that your BIOS is set to boot from CD
