You should not use passwords on the os full stop! If you've got sensitive information then it should be backed up to a personal, lockable and removable storage device. The reason for this is that the chumps who steal computers are about as thick as a brick S#1t house! You …

Sounds like the ps2 connection may be failing. If it's a physical hardware problem with the connection then everthing may look rosey to the os. Tell him to get a usb mouse and see if that works. I've had that prob a few times, try to remave the device then …

Hackintosh! slapple macks lie book! It's not microsoft that should scare us, It's those spooky folks over at Intel. How the heck does a company that builds sub standard product, lead the market for years and then to boot, they manage to grab the other major commercial os manufacturer! Apple …

I like the simpletons way of looking at it. Hard drive comes out of the factory, it weighs Xx.xx amount, it's basicly void. Tech puts it into a machine, user loads up 500gb of information to it, now it has substance in it, motion, pictures and complex programs etc.. but …

Somethings to try first: get into your bios and make sure your hard drive is healthy try booting in safe mode turn on machine and shut it down a couple of times, see if you cant get it to detect a failed boot and choose "last known good configaration"

All coders and and computer geeks should take this very seriously. The ancient hebrew scripture and large sections of the bible are actually code. Thats right CODE I can and will prove these claims over the course of this tread. The major question is who, what and where? Now before …

My initial thoughts lead me to this question: Are you 100% sure the motherboard supports am2+ Check it out! If it does then you may need to flash the bios with a newer version to add the support for dual core proccessing. Just some thoughts! See if you can determine …

I would have thought 550 corsair would have been up to it. It is a little less than you would want running two hdd + after market cpu cooler and a dvd drive. 650-700wts would be better. Have you actually observed the fan on the gpu running with the case …

If anyone else has this problem, It is more than likely caused by CONFICKER. If you cannot access trusted antivirus sites then this would certainly be the case.

HI! Sounds like a nice machine! Looks a little under powered though for running to 8800's though! My first point would be for future reference: If your machine is telling you it's getting to hot, then for pete's sake dont persist in running it. Get some more cooling! Short burst …

Yep, I'd start with the hard drives. jumpers, cables, bios cofigiration, overall health checks etc.. If all that checks out maybe running a repair with your os disk, just in case the raid controller is corrupted maybe?

More than likely a stuffed keyboard connector, happens all the time on laptops. See if you can find a friendly hardware outfit! grab a new keyboard and have a crack at this (if your up to it) : http://www.laptopka.com/2006/04/30/remove-replace-laptop-keyboard-yourself/ Most toshiba's are the same or very similar

It depends on how thouroghly the flatmate formatted the hardrive, as that would be an issue if the install process is that far advanced. If it were me I'd pop the hdd out and have a look at it externally, just to see whats been done. If the flaty has …
