The worst approach for any web application is to think of connecting a JSP to the JDBC directly. If you are really interested, there is a sql taglib in JSTL which would help you. And Google is the best way to get details for your questions.

j2ee.jar in the J2EE SDK or there is an application server specific JAR in each application server which has the JAR for J2EE implementation. Add it to your Eclipse project.
