Currently I'm having problems with my internet browser. Often times when I start up a new browser I will get the page not found error. In the lower task pane of the browser it will tell me it is attempting to open a page 1.0.0.0 Once the error page appears I can enter any web address and the IE will display it fine. If the PC goes idle for 10 or more minutes the whole process will start again. Please take a look at the log and let me know if I should remove any garbage. I have already done all the steps explained in Protection and Removal of Spyware and Malware section of this forum.

After doing this, restart your computer, and download SpySweeper (its link can be found in my sig. below) and CCleaner (also below). Update definitions for these, along with Ewido, and run scans with all three, saving the Ewido and SpySweeper logs. Restart again, and post back a new HJT log, along with the saved logs.

After doing all of this, are ya still having problems?

Just wanted to post a follow up to the logs I left earlier today --- After testing the system a little more I began to have the same D@#! thing happen again. I would start my IE browser and in the lower left corner it would list "Finding site 1.0.0.0" I did more scans and found absolutely no issues with malware, spyware etc...... I was desperate at this point and started searching the internet.

I found a solution to the issue of the 1.0.0.0 and eventual DNS error page. It is specific to my broadband internet provided through QWEST. Specifically I have an ActionTec 701 DSL Modem/Router -- for some reason the DNS traffic is jumbled and gets completely pissed up for no reason.

The solution is to go into the properties of the NIC on the PC and change the Dynamic DNS to Static DNS. This is very simple to do you just need to log into your DSL Modem -- in my case 192.168.0.1 and my password and then find the actual DNS server IP addresses. Then enter these in the section for the NIC.

I know this solution doesn't belong in this section. If anyone has some insight into where I should place this solution for others to reference, please let me know.
