Damn how the hell did you do that, i tried to do it and couldn't, try going into control panel and going to folder options, and hit restore orginal and it should work.

Yes, and if that does not work go to the Welcome screen on the booted CD, go to Install windows, then press R for repair. It will reinstall everything and leave you same settings and programs installed.

check your virus scanner and make sure that it's not blocking file extensions such as pdf. Also, check your security settings in OE and make sure its not blocking it either.

Heres what you do to get rid of the sys error. You have to boot the XP cd. Then go into Install Windows, and then hit repair/recovery. It will fix your file errors. It will not however reset your password.
