Try disableing LAN from BIOS setup. Faulty LAN may be causing the crash while Windows installation program is looking for the installed LAN hardware.

Is the AC plugged in? Looks like faulty AC adapter. I suggest that you borrow one that works to see if that's the problem.

Keep in mind that Dell is SELLING that motherboard that (they say) needs to be replaced. What you have there is corrupt windows registry, but not corrupt enough to display an error message upon startup. The thing to do is: While booting press f8 key and select last known configuration. …

If I'm getting this right, you need to flip the swithc on the PSU to (eventually) get it working? Dead CMOS battery would explain loss of BIOS settings, but not the need of flipping the switch on PSU.. That, my friend, is another issue. Usually it is because most of …

BIOS tends to shuffle the HD boot priority order, so it is possible that it tries to boot from 1.5 Tb drive first when it detects it. What you should do is plug everything in, and access BIOS settings, making sure you are booting from the right drive.

You will have to enter bios settings and set the machine to boot from cd drive first. When you turn it on, press del key (maybe it's f2 or f10) while it's booting to enter bios setup menu. There you'll have to navigate and find settings for boot device. That …

Music production and recording? a) Avoid on-board and PCI card sound cards. They pick up all the static from all the fans, HDs and such. Whatever you go with, go with external (USB) sound cards. b) If you want cheap, forget about studio quality sound.

Wasn't warranty supposed to be issued by the shop, instead of manufacturer? AFAIK, faulty product goes back to the shop where it was purchased from. They have to guarantee for the parts and they are the ones that ship it back to the manufacturer. Anyway, it sounds to me like …

Ihere isn't much you can "reapir", except replace one of the components that is not working. Figuring out which one it is is the biggest task. Only way to do it is the process of elimination: Unplugg all the cards, drives and RAM sticks and try turning it on. If …

There is a program called HDD Regenerator (not freeware, but trial version will help too). It re-magnetizes the failing sectors so they become readable (and usable) again. So,
1. The hard drive has bad sectors (no fix) and should be replaced.
isn't necessarily so. (although, bad sectors will most probably reappear, …

I'll assume you're talking about XP. What you need to do is this: - disconnect the drive - disable IDE controller in device management (usually, you can disable one IDE channel, while second is enabled) - restart with drive connected - enable the IDE controller - restart

Take a look at this regarding the error message. I don't think that this is related to external HD.
